And likewise, the Wa'īdiyyah do not accept belief that those who commit major sins will be brought out of the Fire, or that intercession on their behalf will be accepted. This is the neglect of a duty.
If it is said, “They may add to this a forbidden belief: declaring such people disbelievers or transgressors, or holding that they will remain in the Fire forever,” the response is:
“In this respect, their relationship with Ahl al-Sunnah is like that of disbelievers with believers. Simply failing to believe what the Quran, the Sunnah, and scholarly consensus establish is misguidance, even if it is not accompanied by an affirmative belief. If such a belief is added, both errors are combined. Had they possessed a foundation in the Sunnah, they would not have fallen into religious innovation.”

If you reflect upon the misguidance and errors of the children of Adam concerning the foundations and subsidiary matters of their religion, you will find that most arise from failing to believe the truth, rather than from believing falsehood. In most questions over which people disagree, you will find that what each side affirms is correct; the misguidance arises instead from negation and denial.
For example, the disbelievers did not go astray through affirming the existence of the True One. Rather, their error arose from denying His Book, the Sunnah of His Messenger, and other truths. It was then that they fell into associating partners with Allah. Every community that associates partners with Allah does so fundamentally because it lacks a Book revealed from heaven; and every community devoted exclusively to Allah owes that devotion fundamentally to a Book revealed from heaven.
