not so that Allah’s word may be supreme or that worship may be devoted to Allah alone, contrary to the way of the early generations—may Allah be pleased with them all. Both groups have departed from the straight path.

We ask Allah to guide us to the straight path, the path of those whom Allah has blessed: the prophets, the steadfastly truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous. What excellent companions they are!
