And this is mentioned in many places in the Quran.
Likewise, it appears in authentic hadiths. For example, al-Bukhārī entitled a chapter:
“Chapter: Reports That the Religion of the Prophets Is One.”
He cited the hadith recorded by both al-Bukhārī and Muslim, narrated by Abū Hurayrah from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said:
“We prophets are brothers with one father and different mothers.”
Another example is his description in the Torah:
“I will not take him until I straighten through him the crooked faith; so open through him blind eyes, deaf ears, and veiled hearts.”
For this reason, Allah uses the singular for the path and the way, as in His words, Exalted is He:
“Guide us to the straight path—the path of those You have blessed, not those who have incurred Your anger, nor those who have gone astray.”
And His words:
“This is My path, perfectly straight, so follow it, and do not follow other ways.”
And His words:
“Allah is the Protector of those who believe. He brings them out of darkness into light.”
And His words:
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah.”
“And strove in the way of Allah.”
And His words:
“Fight them until there is no more persecution and religion is entirely for Allah.”
Islam is the religion of all the messengers. Noah, peace be upon him, said:
“But if you turn away, I have asked you for no reward. My reward is only with Allah, and I have been commanded to be one of the Muslims.”
Allah said concerning Abraham and his sons what has already been mentioned. Allah also related the words of the sorcerers:
“Our Lord, pour patience upon us and cause us to die as Muslims.”
And those of Pharaoh:
“I believe that there is no deity except the One in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am one of the Muslims.”
