Shaykh al-Islām—may Allah have mercy on him—said:

Section:

On the unity of faith and the plurality and diversity of revealed laws; the unity of religion in respect of faith, but not of law; the retention and abrogation this involves; and how this also applies, in a certain respect, to the followers of a single revealed law.

Allah Most High said:

“And when his Lord tested Abraham with commands, which he fulfilled, He said, ‘I will make you a leader for mankind.’”

This explicitly states that he is a leader for all mankind. He also said:

“Indeed, Abraham was a model.”

That is, an exemplar to be followed and a teacher of goodness. He also said:

“And who would turn away from the faith of Abraham except one who is foolish at heart? We certainly chose him in this world, and in the Hereafter he will surely be among the righteous.”

“When his Lord said to him, ‘Submit,’ he said, ‘I have submitted to the Lord of all worlds.’”

“Abraham enjoined this upon his sons, as did Jacob: ‘My sons, Allah has chosen this religion for you, so do not die except as Muslims.’”

“Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, ‘What will you worship after me?’ They said, ‘We will worship your God and the God of your fathers
