‘My Lord, why have You raised me up blind when I used to see?’”
“He will say, ‘Thus Our signs came to you, but you forgot them; and thus today you will be forgotten.’”
Ibn ‘Abbās said: “Allah has guaranteed that whoever recites the Quran and acts upon its teachings will neither go astray in this world nor suffer in the Hereafter.” Then he recited this verse.
In the other surah:
“Whoever follows My guidance—no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve.”
“But those who disbelieve and deny Our signs—they are the inhabitants of the Fire, remaining therein forever.”
Allah Most High also said:
“Alif Lām Mīm Sād.”
“A Book has been sent down to you—so let there be no distress in your heart on its account—that you may warn through it, and as a reminder to the believers.”
“Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow any protectors besides Him. How little you take heed!”
Allah Most High also said:
“And this is a blessed Book which We have sent down, so follow it and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy.”
“Lest you say, ‘The Scripture was sent down only to two communities before us, and we were unaware of what they studied.’”
“Or lest you say, ‘Had the Scripture been sent down to us, we would have been better guided than they.’ Now clear evidence has come to you from your Lord, and guidance and mercy. Who, then, is more unjust than one who denies Allah’s signs and turns away from them? We will repay those who turn away from Our signs with a terrible punishment for their turning away.”
Allah Most High also said:
“O children of Adam, if messengers from among you come to you, relating My signs to you, then whoever fears Allah and mends their ways—no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve.”
“But those who deny Our signs and arrogantly reject them—they are the inhabitants of the Fire, remaining therein forever.”
