Hurayrah that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Whoever relieves a believer of one of the distresses of this world, Allah will relieve him of one of the distresses of the Day of Resurrection. Whoever makes things easier for someone in hardship, Allah will make things easier for him in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever conceals a Muslim’s faults, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Allah helps His servant so long as the servant helps his brother.”
Also in Sahīh Muslim, Jābir reported:
“When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about healing recitations, he said, ‘Whoever among you can benefit his brother, let him do so.’”
Such help must, however, be rendered justly, as Allah and His Messenger have commanded—for example, through prescribed supplications and remembrances, or by commanding and forbidding the jinn just as one commands and forbids a human. Whatever would be permissible toward a human is likewise permissible here, as when it becomes necessary to rebuke, threaten, curse, or revile the jinn. Thus, it is established in Sahīh Muslim that Abū al-Dardā’ said:
“The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stood in prayer, and we heard him say, ‘I seek refuge in Allah from you.’ Then he said, ‘I curse you with Allah’s curse,’ three times, and stretched out his hand as though reaching for something. When he had finished praying, we said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, we heard you say something during the prayer that we had never heard you say before, and we saw you stretch out your hand.’
“He said, ‘The enemy of Allah, Iblīs, came with a firebrand to thrust into my face. I said, “I seek refuge in Allah from you,” three times. Then I said three times, “I curse you with Allah’s complete curse,” but he did not retreat. Then I sought to seize him. By Allah, were it not for the supplication of our brother Solomon, he would have been bound in the morning, for the children of the people of Medina to play with.’”
Thus, this hadith mentions seeking refuge from him
