Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

but al-Tirmidhī and others have transmitted it and attributed it to the Prophet, though it is a lie.

As for what they relate:

“The poor will sit on the Day of Resurrection, and He will say: ‘By My might and majesty, I did not withhold this world from you because you were insignificant to Me. Rather, I intended to raise your standing on this Day. Go to the place of gathering, and whoever treated you kindly by giving you a morsel of bread, a drink of water, or a piece of cloth to wear, take him to Paradise.’”

The shaykh said: The second report is a lie, transmitted by no hadith scholar. It is false and contradicts the Book, the Sunnah, and scholarly consensus.

As for what they relate concerning the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace:

“When he arrived in Medina, the girls of Banū al-Najjār came out with frame drums, singing:
‘The full moon has risen over us,
From the passes of al-Wadā’—
and the rest of the poem. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to them: ‘Shake your sieves! May Allah bless you!’”

The report concerning women beating frame drums at celebrations is authentic; this took place during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

As for the saying:

“Shake your sieves!”

this is not known to have been said by him.

As for what they relate from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said:

“O Allah, You have brought me out of the place most beloved to me, so settle me in the place most beloved to You.”
