al-Tirmidhī, from Muhammad ibn Hātim, from al-Ansārī—as we have related it—and he graded it sound and authentic. Shaykh Shams al-Dīn ibn Abī Umar also transmitted it to us through a reading to him, saying, “Abū al-Yaman al-Kindī informed us,” and then related it. He was born in 594 AH and died in Rajab 673 AH.
The sixth hadith:
The shaykh and hadith transmitter Zayn al-Dīn Abū al-Abbās al-Mu’ammil ibn Muhammad ibn Alī ibn Muhammad ibn Alī ibn Mansūr ibn al-Mu’ammil al-Bālisī informed us through a reading to him which I heard in 669 AH, as did those previously mentioned, through their chain of transmission to al-Ansārī, who said:
Sulaymān al-Taymī narrated to me, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him take his seat in the Fire.”
Al-Bukhārī and Muslim narrated a report to the same effect through Abd al-Azīz ibn Suhayb, from Anas. He was born in 602 AH—or, according to another account, 603 AH—and died in Rajab 677 AH.
