Thus, we must affirm what Allah has affirmed for Himself and deny that He resembles His creation. Whoever says, “Allah has no knowledge, strength, mercy, or speech; He neither loves nor is pleased, nor has He called out, spoken privately, or risen over the Throne,” denies and rejects His attributes, likening Allah to nonexistent things and inanimate objects. Whoever says, “He has knowledge like my knowledge, strength like my strength, love like my love, pleasure like my pleasure, two hands like my two hands, or a rising over the Throne like my own settling,” likens Allah to His creation, equating Him with living creatures.
Rather, we must affirm His attributes without likening Him to His creation, and declare Him free of imperfection without denying His attributes. This will be made clear (through two noble principles), two illustrative analogies—and to Allah belongs the highest description—and (through a comprehensive conclusion).
