who said:

“A group of Jews came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, ‘O Muhammad, Allah created all creation; who, then, created Him?’ The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, became so angry that his complexion changed. Then he lunged at them in anger for his Lord’s sake. Gabriel came to him, calmed him, and said, ‘Restrain yourself, O Muhammad.’ An answer to their question came to him from Allah. He said that Allah says: ‘Say: He is Allah, the One,’ through to the end of the surah. When the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, recited it to them, they said, ‘Describe your Lord to us. What is His form like? What is His upper arm like? What is His forearm like? And what is His arm like?’ The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, became even angrier than before and lunged at them. Gabriel came to him and repeated his earlier words, bringing him the answer to their question. Allah then revealed: ‘They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal.’”

Al-Hakam ibn Ma'bad narrated in Kitāb al-Radd 'alā al-Jahmiyyah (The Refutation of the Jahmiyyah), saying: 'Abd Allāh ibn Muhammad ibn al-Nu'mān narrated to us: Salamah ibn Shabīb narrated to us: Yahyā ibn 'Abd Allāh narrated to me: Dirār narrated to me, from Abān, from Anas, who said:

“The Jews of Khaybar came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, ‘O Abū al-Qāsim, Allah created the angels from the light of the veil, Adam from dark, altered clay, Iblīs from the flame of fire, heaven from smoke, and the earth from the foam of water. Tell us, then, about your Lord.’”

He said: “The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not answer them. Gabriel came to him and said, ‘O Muhammad: “Say: He is Allah, the One; Allah, al-Samad. He neither begets nor is He begotten, and there is none comparable to Him.” He has no veins branching towards Him. Al-Samad is not hollow and does not eat
