see this as a blessing, his submission is that of one who is content but not grateful.

He may also submit to Allah, besides whom there is no god, who deserves to be worshipped for His own sake and is praised for everything He does. He is All-Knowing, All-Wise, Most Merciful; He does nothing without wisdom and deserves to be loved, worshipped, and praised for everything He has created. This is the submission of a servant who worships and praises Him. Such a person belongs among those who praise Allah, who will be the first to be called to Paradise. Among them is the bearer of the Banner of Praise, beneath whose banner Adam and all those below him will stand.

For such a person, the divine decree is good and a blessing from Allah. Yet his praise of Allah and contentment with His decree arise from knowing Allah, loving Him, and worshipping Him because He alone, without partner, deserves worship. His patience, contentment, and praise are thus acts of worship arising from this knowledge and testimony. He bears witness in his heart that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, understanding a god to be one who deserves worship.

This differs from someone who recognizes only His lordship, will, and power, or only His kindness and blessings. These are two incomplete and limited perspectives. Only those whose knowledge of Allah and of His religion—with which He sent His messengers and revealed His Books—is deficient confine themselves to them. Such are the people of innovation among the Jahmiyyah, the Qadariyyah Jabriyyah, and the Qadariyyah Mu‘tazilah: the first perspective is that of the former groups, and the second is that of the latter.

Recognizing His lordship, power, and will, together with His mercy, kindness, and bounty, while also recognizing His divinity, His love and good pleasure, and the praise, commendation, and glory that are His—this is the perspective of the people of knowledge and faith among the people of the Sunnah and the community, who faithfully follow
