as the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Do you not see how Allah deflects the insults of Quraysh from me? They insult Mudhammam (the blameworthy), whereas I am Muhammad (the praised).”
Although they intended him personally, because they described him as blameworthy, their insults fell upon someone blameworthy, whereas he is Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Likewise, that object of worship is not Allah. The believers therefore disavow what these people worship.
The seventh point:
Anyone who does not believe in the attributes with which the Messenger described his Lord has, in reality, not worshipped the One whom the Messenger worshipped, in that respect. Apply this reasoning to similar cases. These meanings should therefore be carefully considered, distilled and refined. And Allah Most High knows best.
