Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

For He, glorified be He, is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy, the best of those who forgive, the best of judges, the best of helpers, and the best of creators. He is the best Trustee, the best Protector, and the best Helper. This entails that He deserves unqualified praise for these qualities, that He suffices whoever relies upon Him, and that He graciously protects His servant and grants him mighty support. This entails that He is superior to and more perfect than everything besides Him, as is also indicated by our saying, “Allah is greater.”

Similarly, it may be said:

One who speaks, hears, and sees either possesses speech, hearing, and sight in his own right, or has been made able to hear, see, and speak by another. Whoever makes another able to speak, hear, and see must all the more possess speech, hearing, and sight himself. Otherwise, the one acted upon would be more perfect than the one acting, for these are attributes of perfection.

Likewise, it may be said:

One who is just and truthful either possesses justice and truthfulness in his own right, or has been made truthful and just by another. Whoever makes another truthful and just must all the more be truthful and just himself. All these are sound and clear lines of reasoning.

If it is objected:

This may be countered by saying: Whoever makes another unjust or untruthful must likewise be unjust and untruthful, and Ahl al-Sunnah say that He has made others so
