and stated the truth concerning the Messiah, then said to them:

“So believe in Allah and His messengers.”

For they disbelieved in Allah through their doctrine of the Trinity, and disbelieved in His messengers through their doctrines of union and indwelling. Thus, they rejected the two foundations of Islam in its universal sense: testifying that Allah alone is worthy of worship, and testifying that the messengers are His messengers. He also stated that the Messiah and the angels do not disdain to worship Him, because some people regarded the angels as His children, just as they did the Messiah, and worshipped both the angels and the Messiah.

For this reason, He said:

“It is not for a human being whom Allah has given the Scripture, wisdom and prophethood to then say to people, ‘Be servants of mine rather than Allah.’ Rather, ‘Be godly scholars through your teaching of the Scripture and your study of it.’”

“Nor would he command you to take the angels and the prophets as lords. Would he command you to disbelieve after you have submitted to Allah?”

Thus, He mentioned both the angels and the prophets. In His Book, He has denied both that He begets and that He takes a child.

He said:

“And say, ‘Praise be to Allah, who has not taken a child, who has no partner in sovereignty, and who needs no protector because of weakness.’”

He, Most High, also said:

“Allah has not taken any child, nor is there any god alongside Him”—and so on to the end of the verse.

He said:

“He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, who has not taken a child and has no partner in sovereignty.”

He said:

“We did not create the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in play.”

“Had We wished to take a diversion, We would have taken it from what is with Us—if We were to do so.”

“Rather, We hurl the truth against falsehood, and it crushes it; then falsehood vanishes. And woe to you for what you attribute to Us!”

“To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. Those who are with Him are not too proud to worship Him, nor do they grow weary.”

“They glorify Him night and day, without slackening.”
