On His saying:
“Whoever feared the Most Merciful unseen and came with a heart turned to Him.”
In this verse, He says:
“He who fears will take heed.”
And in the account of Pharaoh, He says:
“Speak to him gently, so that he may take heed or come to fear.”
Thus, He links fearing to taking heed with the conjunction “or.”
He also says:
“For whoever wishes to take heed or show gratitude.”
In the account of the righteous, blind believer, He says:
“And what could make you know? Perhaps he might purify himself, or take heed and benefit from the reminder.”
And in Hā Mīm al-Mu’min, He says:
“That is because, when Allah alone was invoked, you disbelieved; but if partners are associated with Him, you believe. So judgment belongs to Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. It is He who shows you His signs and sends down provision for you from the sky. Yet none takes heed except one who turns to Him.”
Thus, He says:
“Yet none takes heed except one who turns to Him.”
