“And Who brings forth pasture, then turns it into darkened stubble”

are a likeness of the life of this world and the eventual fate of the disbelievers and those deceived by worldly life. They enjoy comfort, adornment and happiness, then come to misery in this world and the Hereafter, like the pasture He turns into darkened stubble.
