“Allah intends to make clear to you and guide you to the ways of those before you and accept your repentance.”

“Allah does not intend to place any hardship upon you.”

Concerning His creative will pertaining to divine decree, He says:

“Whoever Allah wills to guide, He opens his heart to Islam; and whoever He wills to lead astray, He makes his heart tight and constricted.”

“My advice will not benefit you, even if I wish to advise you, if Allah intends to lead you astray.”

“Those are the ones whose hearts Allah did not intend to purify.”

By considering these usages together and distinguishing between them, the confusion concerning the command prescribed in the revealed law is dispelled: does it necessarily entail the creative will or not? The correct conclusion is that it does not necessarily entail the creative will pertaining to divine decree, although it does necessarily entail the religious will expressed in the revealed law.

Concerning His religious permission, He says:

“Whatever date palms you cut down or left standing on their roots, it was by Allah’s permission.”

Concerning His creative permission, He says:

“They cannot harm anyone through it except by Allah’s permission.”

Concerning His religious decree, He says:

“Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him.”

That is, your Lord has commanded this.

Concerning His creative decree, He says:

“And He completed them as seven heavens in two days.”

Concerning His religious judgment, He says:

“O you who have believed, fulfill your contracts. Made lawful
