Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

and worship is the worship of Allah alone, with no partner:

“In houses which Allah has permitted to be raised and in which His name is remembered, men glorify Him morning and evening.”

This establishes the principle that following the straight path requires differing from the people of Hell. It forbids equating what is religiously prescribed with what is natural and innovated merely because they share a common element. A beautiful voice, for example, is not in itself religiously prescribed unless a distinguishing element is added to it, such as the words of the Quran. The shared and distinguishing elements together then constitute beneficial religious practice.
