Allah—angels, human beings, jinn, stars, and all idols. For nothing besides Allah has the power to harm or benefit either itself or anyone else.
As the Most High says when forbidding the worship of the Messiah:
“Those who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary,’ have certainly disbelieved. The Messiah said, ‘O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates partners with Allah, Allah has forbidden Paradise to him, and his refuge is the Fire. The wrongdoers will have no helpers.’”
“Those who say, ‘Allah is the third of three,’ have certainly disbelieved. There is no god but one God. If they do not desist from what they say, a painful punishment will surely afflict those among them who disbelieve.”
“Will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
“The Messiah, son of Mary, was no more than a messenger; messengers had passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They both ate food. See how We make the signs clear to them, then see how they are deluded.”
“Say, ‘Do you worship besides Allah what has no power to harm or benefit you? Allah alone is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.’”
He also said to the Seal of the Messengers:
“Say, ‘I have no power to benefit or harm myself except as Allah wills.’”
And He said:
“Say, ‘I have no power to harm you or guide you aright.’”
And He said in general terms:
“Whatever mercy Allah grants to people, none can withhold; and whatever He withholds, none can release thereafter.”
And He said:
“If Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He; and if He intends good for you, none can repel His bounty.”
And He said:
“Say, ‘Have you considered those you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intends harm for me, can they remove His harm? Or if He intends mercy for me, can they withhold His mercy?’ Say, ‘Allah is sufficient for me. In Him let those who trust place their trust.’”
And the man mentioned in Yā Sīn said:
“Why should I not worship the One who created me, and to whom you will be returned?”
