He also said:
Section: “On the Two Paths of Knowledge and Action”
Allah Most High said to Moses and Aaron:
“Speak to him gently, so that he may take heed or fear Allah.”
And He said in the very same surah:
“Thus We relate to you some accounts of what has gone before, and We have given you a Reminder from Us.”
And so on until His words:
“Thus We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran and have set out warnings in various ways within it, so that they may fear Allah or it may bring them a reminder.”
Thus, regarding each of the two great missions—the mission of Moses and the mission of Muhammad—He stated that its purpose was to bring about either heedfulness or fear. He did not say, “so that he may take heed and fear,” nor did He say, “so that they may fear Me and it may bring them a reminder.” Rather, He made either one of these two the desired outcome. This accords with His words:
“Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good exhortation,”
and other similar passages.
