For this reason, if a minor or someone lacking sound judgment permits another person to take his wealth, that person is not entitled to do so. Anyone who permits another to make him a disbeliever, drive him insane, render him effeminate, or commit sexual immorality with him and his family is among the most foolish of people. The same applies to usury: even if the person charged usury consents, being an adult of sound judgment, it remains unlawful because of the wrong done to him. He therefore has the right to demand repayment of the excess taken from him and to give the lender only his principal, even though he paid the excess voluntarily. If the prohibition concerned solely the right of Allah Most High, it would lapse with his consent. And if his own right were extinguished by his waiving it, he would not be entitled to reclaim the excess.
The prohibition against killing oneself is even more severe than the prohibition against killing another. If someone says to another, “Kill me,” that person acquires no greater authority over him than he himself possesses over his own life. Thus, on the Day of Resurrection, people will complain of the wrongs done to them by their leaders, even though those leaders did not compel them to disbelieve; rather, they disbelieved of their own choice.
Allah Most High says:
“On the Day their faces are turned about in the Fire, they will say, ‘If only we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!’”
“And they will say, ‘Our Lord, we obeyed our masters and our leaders, and they led us astray from the way.’”
“‘Our Lord, give them double punishment and curse them with a mighty curse.’”
He also says:
“Until, when they have all gathered together in it, the last of them will say of the first, ‘Our Lord, these led us astray, so give them double punishment in the Fire.’ He will say, ‘Each will have double, but you do not know.’”
Allah Most High also says:
“Those who disbelieve will say, ‘Our Lord, show us those two who led us astray from among the jinn and mankind, so that we may put them beneath our feet and they may be among the lowest.’”
Likewise, people curse Satan even though he did not compel them to sin;
