He also said:

Concerning the words of Allah Most High:

“Is one who stands upon clear evidence from his Lord and is followed by a witness from Him”

This encompasses everyone who stands upon clear evidence from his Lord and is followed by a witness from Him. The clear evidence is beneficial knowledge, and the witness that follows it is righteous action. This includes the Messenger and all who follow him until the Day of Resurrection. The Messenger stands upon clear evidence from his Lord, and his followers likewise stand upon clear evidence from his Lord.

Concerning the Messenger, Allah said:

“Say: Indeed, I stand upon clear evidence from my Lord.”

Concerning the believers, He said:

“Is one who stands upon clear evidence from his Lord like those whose evil deeds have been made appealing to them and who follow their own desires?”

He mentioned this after describing the two groups at the beginning of the surah, saying:

“Those who disbelieve and turn others away from the path of Allah—He has rendered their deeds worthless.”

“But those who believe, do righteous deeds, and believe in what has been sent down to Muhammad—and it is the truth from their Lord—He has absolved them of their misdeeds and set their affairs right.”

“That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the truth from their Lord.”

These verses continue up to His words:
