Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is the most perfect of all creation and the most honoured by Allah. He surpasses all creation in every form of obedience: he is the foremost of those who love Allah, trust in Him, worship Him, know Him, and repent to Him. His repentance is more perfect than anyone else’s; hence Allah has forgiven his past and future sins.
Through this forgiveness, he attained the right to intercede on the Day of Resurrection, as established in the authentic report:
“On the Day of Resurrection, people will seek intercession from Adam, but he will say, ‘I was forbidden to eat from the tree, yet I ate from it. Myself! Myself! Myself!’ They will seek it from Noah, but he will say, ‘I invoked a supplication against the people of the earth which I had not been commanded to make. Myself! Myself! Myself!’ They will seek it from Abraham, Allah’s close friend, then from Moses, then from the Messiah, who will say, ‘Go to Muhammad, a servant whose past and future sins Allah has forgiven.’
“He said, ‘They will come to me, and I will set out. When I see my Lord, I will fall down before Him in prostration and praise Him with words of praise that He will inspire me to utter, which I cannot offer now. He will say, “O Muhammad, raise your head. Speak, and you will be heard; ask, and you will be given; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted.” I will say, “My Lord, my community!” He will then set a limit for me, and I will admit them to Paradise.’”
Thus the Messiah—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him—directed them to Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and spoke of the perfection of his servitude to Allah and the completeness of Allah’s forgiveness of him. For there is no bond between created beings and the Creator other than pure servitude and dependence on the servant’s part
