punishment:

“And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if only they knew.”

The Most High says:

“What they spend in this worldly life is like a wind bearing bitter cold that strikes the harvest of people who have wronged themselves and destroys it. Allah has not wronged them; rather, they wrong themselves.”

The Most High says concerning the people of Saba:

“But they turned away, so We sent upon them an overwhelming flood”—up to His words—“Thus We repaid them for their ingratitude. Do We repay anyone but the ungrateful?”

The Most High says:

“Such is your Lord’s seizure when He seizes towns while they are doing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe.”

The Most High says:

“We never punish until We have sent a messenger.”

In the authentic divine hadith:

“O My servants, it is only your deeds that I record for you, then repay you for them in full. Whoever finds good, let him praise Allah; and whoever finds otherwise, let him blame no one but himself.”

In the foremost supplication for forgiveness:

“I acknowledge before You Your blessings upon me, and I acknowledge my sin.”

The Most High says:

“Indeed, for those who have done wrong there is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.”

All praise belongs to Allah alone. May Allah bless and grant peace to Allah’s servant and Messenger Muhammad, his family, and his Companions. May Allah be pleased with all the Companions, the Successors, and those who follow the Successors in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.
