And Allah commanded the messengers to be united in their faith and religion, without division. As reported in the two Sahīh collections, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“We prophets share one religion.”
Allah Most High says:
“He has ordained for you the religion He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: establish the religion and do not be divided in it.”
Thus, all of Allah’s messengers and prophets affirm one another’s truthfulness and do not disagree, despite the differences in their prescribed laws.
Anyone who is obeyed—whether a scholar, a shaykh, a ruler, or a king—and follows the messengers commands what they commanded, calls to what they called to, and loves anyone who calls to the same thing as he does. For Allah loves that, so he loves what Allah Most High loves. His true purpose is that Allah Most High alone should be worshipped and that all religion should be devoted to Allah.
But whoever dislikes having a peer who calls to the same thing seeks to be the one who is obeyed and worshipped. He therefore shares something of the condition of Pharaoh and his like. Whoever seeks to be obeyed instead of Allah is following Pharaoh’s way. And whoever seeks to be obeyed alongside Allah wants people to take others besides Allah as His rivals
