Likewise, everything He creates contains wisdom on His part, and He is praised for it on account of that wisdom. The Jahmiyyah are also far removed from this understanding.

So too are the Qadariyyah, who say that the wisdom in His acts does not relate back to Him; rather, it concerns only the benefit of creation. Thus, they recognize only gratitude, just as the Jahmiyyah recognize only power.

Power devoid of blessing and wisdom displays no praiseworthy quality. This is like someone who has power but does something that benefits neither himself nor anyone else: such a person is not praised.

The position of the Jahmiyyah, the followers of Jahm, therefore amounts to saying that He does not deserve praise. In their view, He possesses dominion without praise, although even their understanding of His dominion is deficient. Conversely, the Mu‘tazilah attribute to Him a kind of praise without complete dominion, since, according to them, He wills things that do not occur, things occur that He does not will, and events take place without His power.

According to the way of the early Muslim generations, dominion and praise belong to Him in their entirety. He is praised for His wisdom just as He is praised for His power and mercy.
