as Allah Most High says:

“O you who believe, take your precautions, then go forth in groups or go forth all together.”

The verses continue down to the mention of the prayer in times of fear. Earlier, He had mentioned obedience to Allah and obedience to the Messenger, seeking judgment from Allah and the Messenger, and referring people’s disputes to Allah and the Messenger. He condemned those who seek judgment elsewhere and refer their disputes to others besides Allah and the Messenger.

Those verses thus explain faith in Allah and the Messenger. Hence His words within them:

“But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge in their disputes, then find within themselves no resistance to your judgment and submit wholeheartedly.”

This is striving in defense of what the Messenger brought. Allah Most High also says:

“The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, then never doubt, and strive with their wealth and their lives in Allah’s cause.”

Allah Most High also says:

“Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your spouses, your relatives, the wealth you have acquired, the trade whose decline you fear, and the homes you cherish are dearer to you than Allah, His Messenger, and striving in His cause, then wait until Allah brings His command to pass. Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient.”

He also says:

“Do you consider providing water to pilgrims and maintaining the Sacred Mosque equal to the deeds of one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and strives in Allah’s cause? They are not equal in Allah’s sight. Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.”
