Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

Allah curses those who conceal knowledge, as do all who pronounce curses. There is much to be said about the virtue of making knowledge known and the blameworthiness of concealing it.

The point here is that Allah hates the arrogant, boastful person who is miserly with knowledge. Such miserliness consists in withholding it. An arrogant person, meanwhile, may be too proud to seek or accept knowledge, or may look down on certain people and therefore refuse to share it with them. This often occurs among some people: a person withholds the knowledge he possesses and becomes arrogant because of it, while also being too proud to draw from others. The opposite is humility in seeking and sharing knowledge, and generosity in doing so.
