And Shuayb said:

“My success is only through Allah. In Him I have placed my trust, and to Him I turn in repentance.”

The believers said:

“Our Lord, in You we have placed our trust, to You we turn in repentance, and to You is the final return.”

Allah Most High says:

“Remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself wholeheartedly to Him. He is the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, so take Him as your Trustee.”

And He says:

“Whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out for him and provide for him from where he does not expect. Whoever places his trust in Allah, He is sufficient for him. Allah will surely accomplish His purpose. Allah has set a measure for everything.”

In this regard, people fall into four groups:

One group neither worships Him nor places its trust in Him. These are the worst of creation.

Another group seeks to worship Him by doing what He has commanded and refraining from what He has forbidden, but they have not fully realized trust in Him and dependence on His help. They are therefore unable to accomplish much of what they seek and lose heart in many afflictions.

Among these are those who deny divine decree and regard themselves as the originators of their own actions. In reality, they neither seek His help nor ask Him to reform their hearts, set them straight, or guide them. These people are forsaken, just as the Muslim community regards them.

Others affirm divine decree in both word and belief, yet this belief has not taken hold of their hearts in knowledge and practice as has their intention to perform purification and prayer. These too are weak and helpless.
