Section: Distinguishing Truth from Falsehood

Allah has made this distinction clear through His Book and His Prophet. The more closely a person follows the Book He revealed and the Prophet He sent, the greater that person’s discernment. The further a person strays from following the Book and the Messenger, the further they are from such discernment, and truth becomes confused with falsehood for them. Such are those who confuse worship of the Most Merciful with worship of Satan, a truthful prophet with a lying pretender to prophethood, and the signs of the prophets with the deceptions of liars—until they even confuse the Creator with the created.

Indeed, Allah, glorified and exalted is He, sent Muhammad with guidance and the religion of truth to bring people out of darkness into light. Through him, He distinguished between truth and falsehood, guidance and misguidance, right conduct and waywardness, truthfulness and lying, knowledge and ignorance, right and wrong, and the path of Allah’s blessed allies and that of His wretched enemies;
