, and I have been commanded to judge justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord.’”

Thus Allah commanded His Prophet to believe in all the revealed Scriptures and to deal justly with all people, giving everyone their due and restraining every wrongdoer from wrongdoing. For what he brought embodies fairness and justice in all religious and worldly affairs. This is the purpose of sending the messengers and revealing the Scriptures, as Allah Most High says:

“We certainly sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance, so that people may uphold justice.”

Allah Most High also says:

“The Messenger believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, as do the believers. All believe in Allah, His angels, His Scriptures, and His messengers, saying, ‘We make no distinction between any of His messengers.’ And they say, ‘We hear and obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord; to You is the final return.’”

And so on to the end of the surah. It is established in an authentic report that “the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was given these two verses from a treasure beneath the Throne, and whenever he recited any part of them, he was granted what he sought.” It is also established in an authentic report that “whoever recites them in a night, they will suffice him.”

Allah Most High also says:

“Say, ‘We believe in Allah and what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and what was given to Moses and Jesus, and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we submit.’”

“If they believe as you believe, then they are rightly guided. But if they turn away, they are merely in opposition. Allah will suffice you against them, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”
