Shaykh al-Islām—may Allah have mercy on him—also said:

My Lord, make this easy and grant Your help, O Most Generous.

All praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, seek His help and ask His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves and from our evil deeds. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. May Allah bless him and his family and grant him abundant peace.

Section

Repentance and seeking forgiveness concern both neglecting obligations and committing prohibited acts. Many people overlook the former.

Allah Most High says:

“So be patient; indeed, Allah’s promise is true. Seek forgiveness for your sin, and glorify your Lord with praise in the evening and the morning.”

And He Most High says:

“So know that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, and seek forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and women.”

And He Most High says:

“So that Allah may forgive your past and future sins.”
