Then, after the jinn heard the Quran, they came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and believed in him. They were the jinn of Nisibis, as established in al-Sahīh in the hadith of Ibn Mas‘ūd. It is also related that he recited Surah al-Rahmān to them, and whenever he said:
“Then which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?”
they replied: “We deny none of Your favors, our Lord; to You belongs all praise.”
“When they met the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, they asked him for provisions for themselves and their animals. He said: ‘You may have every bone over which Allah’s name has been mentioned; you will find it abundantly covered with meat. Every dropping will be fodder for your animals.’ The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ‘Do not cleanse yourselves with either of these after relieving yourselves, for they are provisions for your brothers among the jinn.’”
This prohibition is established from him through several channels. Scholars have cited it as evidence prohibiting the use of these things for cleansing after relieving oneself. They said: “If using the provisions of the jinn and their animals for such cleansing is forbidden, then it is all the more forbidden to use food and fodder intended for humans and their animals.”
Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, was sent to all humans and jinn. This is of far greater standing before Allah Most High than the jinn’s being subjected to Solomon, peace be upon him. They were subjected to Solomon, who exercised royal authority over them, whereas Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, was sent to them to command them to do what Allah and His Messenger commanded, for he is Allah’s servant and Messenger. The station of a servant-messenger is above that of a prophet-king.
The disbelievers among the jinn will enter the Fire, according to explicit scriptural evidence and scholarly consensus. As for the believers among them, the majority of
