“Allah intends to lighten your burden, for mankind was created weak.”
After mentioning what He commanded the wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to do and what He forbade them, He says:
“Allah only intends to remove impurity from you, O members of the household, and to purify you completely.”
The meaning is that He has commanded you, O members of the household, to do what removes impurity from you and purifies you completely. Whoever obeys His command is purified and has impurity removed from him, unlike whoever disobeys Him.
As for “command,” He says concerning the command pertaining to the created order:
“When We will something, all We say to it is, ‘Be,’ and it is.”
Allah Most High says:
“Our command is but a single command, like the blink of an eye.”
Allah Most High also says:
“Our command came upon it by night or by day, and We left it mown down, as though it had not flourished the day before.”
As for the command pertaining to religion, Allah Most High says:
“Indeed, Allah commands justice, excellence, and giving to relatives, and forbids indecency, wrongdoing, and oppression. He admonishes you so that you may take heed.”
Allah Most High also says:
“Indeed, Allah commands you to return trusts to their rightful owners and, when you judge between people, to judge with justice. Excellent indeed is what Allah admonishes you to do. Surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.”
As for “permission,” He says concerning permission pertaining to the created order, when mentioning magic:
“They cannot harm anyone through it except by Allah’s permission.”
That is, by His will and power; otherwise, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has not permitted magic.
Concerning “permission pertaining to religion,” He says:
“Or do they have partners who have ordained for them in religion what Allah has not authorized?”
Allah Most High also says:
“Indeed, We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner, and as one who calls to Allah by His permission.”
Allah Most High also says:
“We have sent no messenger except to be obeyed
