for none forgives sins but You.’ Whoever says this in the morning with firm conviction in it, then dies that night, will enter Paradise.”
In an authentic hadith, Abū Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, narrated from his Lord, Blessed and Exalted, that He said:
“O My servants, I have forbidden injustice for Myself and made it forbidden among you, so do not wrong one another. O My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins and do not mind doing so. So seek My forgiveness, and I will forgive you.
“O My servants, all of you are hungry except those whom I feed. So ask Me for food, and I will feed you. O My servants, all of you are naked except those whom I clothe. So ask Me for clothing, and I will clothe you. O My servants, all of you are astray except those whom I guide. So seek My guidance, and I will guide you.
“O My servants, you will never be able to harm Me, nor will you ever be able to benefit Me. O My servants, if the first and last of you, humans and jinn alike, were all as pious at heart as the most pious person among you, that would add nothing to My dominion. O My servants, if the first and last of you, humans and jinn alike, were all as wicked at heart as the most wicked person among you, that would diminish My dominion in no way.
“O My servants, if the first and last of you, humans and jinn alike, gathered on a single plain and asked of Me, and I gave each person what he asked for, that would diminish what I possess no more than a single dip of a needle diminishes the sea.
“O My servants, it is only your deeds that I record for you and then recompense you for in full. Whoever finds good should praise Allah, and whoever finds otherwise should blame no one but himself.”
