put your trust, if you are Muslims.’”
The sorcerers said:
“Our Lord, pour out patience upon us and cause us to die as Muslims.”
Joseph, peace be upon him, said:
“Cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous.”
Bilqīs said:
“I submit, along with Solomon, to Allah, Lord of all worlds.”
The Most High says:
“By it the prophets who submitted to Allah judged for the Jews, as did the godly scholars and learned men.”
The disciples said:
“We believe in Allah, so bear witness that we are Muslims.”
Thus, the religion of the prophets is one, even though their prescribed laws differed. As reported in the two Sahīh collections, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“We prophets share one religion.”
The Most High says:
“He has ordained for you the same religion that He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and that which We enjoined upon Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: uphold the religion and do not become divided over it. What you call the polytheists to is difficult for them to accept.”
The Most High also says:
“O messengers, eat of the good things and do righteous deeds. Indeed, I know well what you do.”
“Indeed, this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so fear Me.”
“But they divided their religion among themselves into sects, each faction rejoicing in what it has.”
