Paradise half a day before the rich,” they recited poetry and displayed ecstasy in response—all this and similar accounts are fabricated falsehoods and invented lies, as agreed by those people of knowledge and faith who are united on this matter. None disputes this except someone ignorant and astray. Even if some such accounts appear in certain books, they are all lies, by the agreement of the people of knowledge and faith.

As for His words:

“And keep yourself patiently in the company of those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face.”

This applies generally to everyone who fits this description, such as those who perform the dawn and afternoon prayers in congregation. They call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face, whether they belong to “Ahl al-Suffa” or not. Allah commanded His Prophet to remain patiently with His righteous servants who seek His Face, and not to let his eyes turn away from them in pursuit of the adornment of worldly life. This verse is in al-Kahf, a Meccan surah.

The same applies to the verse in Sūrat al-Anʿām:

“Do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face. You bear no responsibility for their reckoning, nor do they bear any responsibility for yours. Were you to drive them away, you would be among the wrongdoers.”
