as Allah Most High says:

“Yes, if you are patient and fear Allah, and they come upon you suddenly, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand marked angels.”

Allah Most High also says:

“You will surely be tested in your wealth and your lives, and you will surely hear much abuse from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate partners with Allah. But if you are patient and fear Allah, that is indeed a matter requiring firm resolve.”

He Most High says:

“O you who believe, do not take outsiders as confidants. They spare no effort to harm you and wish to see you suffer. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their hearts conceal is greater. We have made the signs clear to you, if you will understand.”

“Here you are, loving them, while they do not love you, even though you believe in all the Scripture. When they meet you, they say, ‘We believe,’ but when they are alone, they bite their fingertips in rage at you. Say, ‘Die in your rage!’ Indeed, Allah knows what lies within the hearts.”

“If good befalls you, it distresses them; but if misfortune strikes you, they rejoice in it. Yet if you are patient and fear Allah, their scheming will not harm you at all. Indeed, Allah encompasses all that they do.”

Joseph’s brothers said to him:

“‘Are you really Joseph?’ He said, ‘I am Joseph, and this is my brother. Allah has indeed favoured us. Whoever fears Allah and is patient—Allah never lets the reward of those who do good go to waste.’”

Patience has also been coupled with righteous deeds, both generally and specifically. Allah Most High says:

“Follow what is revealed to you, and be patient until Allah judges, for He is the best of judges.”

Following what was revealed to him encompasses all of piety: believing what Allah tells us and obeying His commands. He Most High says:
