Allah in enabling him to do good. He knows that it is Allah who guided him and eased his way to goodness, and he acknowledges his sins and repents of them. As one of them said:

“I obeyed You by Your grace, and all credit belongs to You. I disobeyed You with Your knowledge, and the proof is Yours against me. Since Your proof against me is established and I have no argument to offer, I ask You to forgive me.”

In the authentic divine hadith:

“O My servants, these are but your deeds, which I record for you and then recompense you for in full. Whoever finds good, let him praise Allah; whoever finds otherwise, let him blame no one but himself.”

Others may be mindful only of the religious commands. You find them striving to obey to the best of their ability, yet they lack the awareness of divine decree that would bring about genuine seeking of Allah’s help, reliance upon Him, and patience.

Still others are mindful only of divine decree. They possess a measure of seeking Allah’s help, reliance upon Him, and patience that the former lack. Yet they do not adhere to the commands of Allah and His Messenger, follow His revealed law, or hold fast to the religion taught by the Quran and Sunnah. These seek Allah’s help but do not worship Him, whereas those before them wish to worship Him but do not seek His help. The believer both worships Him and seeks His help.

The “fourth category” is the worst: those who neither worship Him nor seek His help. They are aligned neither with the revealed law and its commands nor with the divine decree governing creation.
