has thought well of them—and claimed that he did not know their true condition—and then learns their true condition is to be classed with them and counted as one of them if he does not dissociate himself from them and openly express his disapproval to them.
As for anyone who says that their words admit an interpretation consistent with the Sharia, he is one of their leading figures and leaders. If he is intelligent, he knows that what he has said is a lie; if he believes this both inwardly and outwardly, his unbelief is greater than that of the Christians. Thus, anyone who does not declare these people unbelievers and offers an interpretation of their words would be even further from declaring Christians unbelievers for their doctrines of the Trinity and the union of the divine and human natures.
And Allah knows best.
