The shaykh, imam, learned scholar and great authority, Shaykh al-Islām, an heir to the noble early generations, the godly scholar into whose heart the light of the Quran had been cast, Abū al-‘Abbās Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah al-Harrānī—may Allah sanctify his soul, illuminate his grave, and grant him an abode in the spacious Gardens of Paradise—also said:
All praise belongs to Allah. We praise Him, seek His help, ask His forgiveness, and seek His guidance. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves and from our evil deeds. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray; and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. We bear witness that none is worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner, and we bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. He sent him with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religion, and Allah suffices as a witness.
He conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, sincerely counselled the community, dispelled its distress, strove in Allah’s cause as he ought, and worshipped Allah with sincere devotion until death came to him from his Lord. May Allah bestow His blessings and abundant peace upon him until the Day of Judgment.
