Section

As for the man who claims prophethood, declares the abomination of sodomy lawful, forbids marriage, and holds the other views mentioned, his case is too obvious to require discussion. He is one of the unbelievers and among the vilest apostates. Killing him and those who follow him is obligatory by the consensus of the Muslims.

Each of these people must either be addressed with evidence, in the hope that Allah will accept his repentance and guide him, or have the prescribed punishment carried out upon him and be put to death. Whoever is capable of either course must undertake it. As for whoever is incapable of either, Allah does not burden any soul beyond its capacity. Nevertheless, he must recognize what is right and love it, reject what is wrong and hate it, and do whatever he can to enjoin right and forbid wrong, as the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said in the authentic hadith:

“Whoever among you sees a wrong, let him change it with his hand. If he cannot, then with his tongue. If he cannot, then with his heart. Beyond that there is not even an atom’s weight of faith.”

And Allah, glorified and exalted is He, knows best.

فَصْلٌ: وَأَمَّا الَّذِي يَدَّعِي النُّبُوَّةَ وَأَنَّهُ يُبِيحُ الْفَاحِشَةَ اللُّوطِيَّةَ وَيُحَرِّمُ النِّكَاحَ وَمَا ذُكِرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ: فَهَذَا أَمْرٌ أَظْهَرُ مِنْ أَنْ يُقَالَ عَنْهُ؛ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ الْكَافِرِينَ وَأَخْبَثِ الْمُرْتَدِّينَ وَقَتْلُ هَذَا وَمَنْ اتَّبَعَهُ وَاجِبٌ بِإِجْمَاعِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْوَاحِدُ مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ إمَّا أَنْ يُخَاطَبَ بِالْحُجَّةِ لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِ وَيَهْدِيَهُ؛ وَإِمَّا أَنْ يُقَامَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَدُّ فَيُقْتَلُ. فَمَنْ كَانَ قَادِرًا عَلَى أَحَدِ الْأَمْرَيْنِ لَزِمَهُ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ عَجَزَ عَنْ هَذَا وَهَذَا فَلَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إلَّا وُسْعَهَا؛ لَكِنْ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَعْرِفَ الْمَعْرُوفَ وَيُحِبَّهُ وَيُنْكِرَ الْمُنْكَرَ وَيَبْغُضَهُ وَيَفْعَلَ مَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ الْأَمْرَيْنِ - مِنْ الْأَمْرِ وَالنَّهْيِ - كَمَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ الصَّحِيحِ: {مَنْ رَأَى مِنْكُمْ مُنْكَرًا فَلْيُغَيِّرْهُ بِيَدِهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِلِسَانِهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِقَلْبِهِ وَلَيْسَ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ الْإِيمَانِ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ} . وَاَللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ.
