anything besides Him through their fear of Him, their hope in anything besides Him through their hope in Him, and their calling upon anything besides Him through their calling upon Him—is something known through direct experience and inward feeling only to those who have a share in it. And every believer has a share in it.
This is the very essence of Islam, with which Allah sent the messengers and revealed the Scriptures. It is the central axis around which the Quran revolves. And Allah, glorified be He, knows best.
مَا سِوَاهُ بِخَوْفِهِ وَرَجَاءُ مَا سِوَاهُ بِرَجَائِهِ وَدُعَاءُ مَا سِوَاهُ بِدُعَائِهِ هُوَ أَمْرٌ لَا يَعْرِفُهُ بِالذَّوْقِ وَالْوَجْدِ إلَّا مَنْ لَهُ نَصِيبٌ وَمَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إلَّا لَهُ مِنْهُ نَصِيبٌ. وَهَذَا هُوَ حَقِيقَةُ الْإِسْلَامِ الَّذِي بَعَثَ اللَّهُ بِهِ الرُّسُلَ وَأَنْزَلَ بِهِ الْكُتُبَ وَهُوَ قُطْبُ الْقُرْآنِ الَّذِي تَدُورُ عَلَيْهِ رَحَاهُ. وَاَللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ أَعْلَمُ.
