And there are other matters graver than these—too grave to mention, for they contain disbelief worse than the claim of those who say that Allah has a son.

As for the claim that one of the shaykhs had his genitals change into those of a woman, this is a fabricated lie. Rather, his path contains reprehensible practices contrary to Islam, which anyone familiar with Islam would recognize. His followers transmit and record statements of disbelief from him, such as: “If I killed seventy prophets, I would not be in error.” It is well known that killing even one prophet is among the gravest acts of disbelief. In a hadith traced back to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he said:

“The people most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be those who killed a prophet or were killed by a prophet.”

If it is said, “He said this while witnessing the reality of divine decree governing creation—that Allah is the Creator of His servants’ deeds,” then the excuse is uglier than the sin. For if divine decree were a valid excuse, neither Iblīs nor Pharaoh nor any other disbeliever would incur blame in this world or the Hereafter. Yet if someone wronged this person who invokes divine decree as an excuse, he would fight him and become angry with him. If divine decree is a valid excuse, then it excuses that person’s doing whatever he wishes to him; and if it is not an excuse, he would not harm a human being. How, then, can it be an excuse for someone who disbelieves in Allah and His Messenger?

Adam, peace be upon him, prevailed over Moses in argument only because Moses blamed him for the calamity that had befallen him, not for the sin insofar as it violated the right of Allah Most High. Adam had repented, and whoever repents of a sin is like someone who has no sin. Rather, Moses said to him, “What did you do to cause us and yourself to be expelled from Paradise?” Adam replied, “Do you blame me for something Allah decreed for me forty years before I was created?” Thus Adam prevailed over Moses in argument.
