those of the misguided who follow you.”

And he said:

“By Your might, I will surely lead them all astray,
except Your chosen servants among them.”

Concerning Joseph, He said:

“Thus it was, so that We might turn evil and indecency away from him. He was indeed one of Our chosen servants.”

And He said:

“Glory be to Allah, far above what they ascribe to Him—except Allah’s chosen servants.”

And He said:

“Indeed, he has no authority over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.
His authority is only over those who take him as their ally and those who associate partners with Allah.”

It is as servants that He has described all those He has chosen from His creation, as in His words:

“Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, men of strength and insight.
We distinguished them with a special quality: remembrance of the Hereafter.
Indeed, in Our sight they are among the chosen, the truly good.”

And His words:

“Remember Our servant David, a man of strength; indeed, he constantly turned to Us.”

Of Solomon, He said:

“What an excellent servant! Indeed, he constantly turned to Us.”

And of Job:

“What an excellent servant!”

And He said:

“Remember Our servant Job, when he called upon his Lord.”

And Noah, peace be upon him, said:

“O descendants of those We carried with Noah! Indeed, he was a grateful servant.”

And He said:

“Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque.”

And He said:

“When the servant of Allah stood up, calling upon Him.”

And He said:

“If you are in doubt about what We have sent down to Our servant.”

And He said:

“Then He revealed to His servant what He revealed.”

And He said:

“A spring from which the servants of Allah will drink.”

And He said:

“The servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk humbly upon the earth.”

There are many such examples throughout the Quran.
