Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

And for this reason, al-Sadr was further sunk in unbelief in his words but less so in his deeds, whereas al-Nusayr was further sunk in unbelief in his deeds but less so in his words. Both, however, were unbelievers in word and deed.

For this reason, Muslims of sound judgment can see that al-Sadr’s words are falsehood, fabrication, and deception, contrary to what the Messenger brought, just as they can see that al-Nusayr’s deeds constitute a breaking away from and rejection of what the Messenger brought.

For this reason, al-Nusayr was closer to the scholars, because some of his statements are true, just as al-Sadr is closer to the worshippers, because some of his deeds are acts of worship.
