PART NINE
THE BOOK OF LOGIC
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.
All praise is due to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon him after whom there is no prophet.
Shaykh al-Islām Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah—may Allah sanctify his soul—was asked:
“What do you say about ‘logic’? Is someone who says that it is a communal obligation correct or mistaken?”
He replied:
All praise is due to Allah.
As for logic, if someone says that it is a communal obligation and that anyone unfamiliar with it can have no confidence in any of his knowledge, then this assertion is utterly unsound on several grounds
الْجُزْءُ الْتَاسِعُ
كِتَابُ الْمَنْطِقِ
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَحْدَهُ وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدَهُ
سُئِلَ شَيْخُ الْإِسْلَامِ أَحْمَد بْنُ تَيْمِيَّة - قَدَّسَ اللَّهُ رُوحَهُ -:
مَا تَقُولُونَ فِي
" الْمَنْطِقِ "
وَهَلْ مَنْ قَالَ إنَّهُ فَرْضُ كِفَايَةٍ مُصِيبٌ أَمْ مُخْطِئٌ؟ .
فَأَجَابَ:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ،
أَمَّا الْمَنْطِقُ:
فَمَنْ قَالَ: إنَّهُ فَرْضُ كِفَايَةٍ وَإِنْ مَنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ بِهِ خِبْرَةٌ فَلَيْسَ لَهُ ثِقَةٌ بِشَيْءِ مِنْ عُلُومِهِ فَهَذَا الْقَوْلُ فِي غَايَةِ الْفَسَادِ مِنْ وُجُوهٍ
