Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

judge between Your servants concerning that over which they differed. Guide me, by Your leave, to the truth concerning which they have differed. Indeed, You guide whom You will to a straight path.”

Allah Most High has commanded us to say in our prayers:

“Guide us to the straight path—the path of those You have blessed, not of those who have incurred Your anger, nor of those who have gone astray.”

This is the finest of supplications and the most binding upon His servants. Whoever truly embraces this supplication, Allah will make him one of those who are guided and rightly directed. Indeed, He hears supplication and never breaks His promise. And Allah knows best.
