and the jinn among you were as wicked at heart as the most wicked man among you, that would not diminish My dominion in the least. If they were as devout at heart as the most devout man among you, that would not increase My dominion in the least. If they stood together on a single plain and asked Me, and I granted each one what he requested, that would not diminish what I possess in the least”—and so on to the end of the hadith.

The Lord, glorified be He, is inherently free of all need. The attributes of perfection that are His due belong to Him inherently and necessarily, being inseparable from His Essence. In none of this does He depend upon anyone else.

Rather, His actions arise from His perfection: He is perfect, and therefore He acts. His kindness and generosity likewise arise from His perfection. He does nothing out of any need whatsoever for anyone else. Rather, whatever He wills, He does, for He always does whatever He wills.

He, glorified be He, accomplishes His purpose. Whatever He seeks, He attains, obtains, and reaches on His own. No one assists Him, and no one hinders Him. He needs no helper in any of His affairs; none of His creatures lends Him support, nor does He have a protector out of weakness.
