Then turn to the Lord of creation in humble supplication,
Seeking that He guide you to the truth.

Make your soul yield its reins to the truth, and listen;
Do not turn away from sound reflection.

Whatever truth becomes clear, never abandon it;
Do not disobey one who calls to the most upright way.

Abandon the religion of those bound by custom; do not follow it,
And turn aside from the path of the people who incurred wrath.

Do not follow anyone who has strayed from the truth;
Weigh people’s beliefs and practices impartially.

Then the first gleams of guidance appear,
Bringing glad tidings to whoever comes with the upright faith—

The creed of Abraham, our leader,
And the religion of Allah’s Messenger, the best of creation.

The Most Merciful accepts no religion except that
Which the messengers of noble character brought.

Now has come this Gatherer, the Seal of the Prophets,
Whose universal message encompasses every good.

He conveyed from the Lord of His servants that whoever
Turns away from him faces the bitterest loss in the Hereafter.

Such is the direction servants can offer the bewildered;
But guiding him belongs to the Lord alone.

Lack of guidance among mankind does not avail
One who turns away from it; he proceeds without a valid plea.
